I have been trying out quite a few new things, and I don’t know where to start in terms of talking about them here. Take a look at this list and let me know in the comments which topic piques your curiosity, and I’ll do my next blog post on the topic that generates the most interest.
- Using Google Docs to create rubrics
- iMovie book trailers
- (Almost) Paperless Classroom with Google Docs and Schoology
- Carving out a hybrid position (or how I’m teaching two English classes and working as a Technology Integration Specialist at the same time)
- Writing Workshop: going beyond peer editing with partners
- Teaching The Catcher in the Rye
Writing workshop, please!
Yes, the workshop!
Writing Workshops!
#1 Creating rubrics in Google Docs
#2 Catcher in the Rye
#3 Almost paperless classroom
I couldn't just pick one since I am interested in all three. I did put them in order!
Writing Workshop 😀
I vote for Google Doc rubrics and carving out hybrid position, as I could see myself taking a similar position in the near future.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I plan to tackle all of these at some point, but votes would seem to indicate highest interest, so that post would come first.
#1 almost paperless
#2 book trailers
#3 writing workshop!
I’m trying to decide which subject to write about next. If you have a preference, please let me know in the comments. http://t.co/2XDjGWUcjQ
imovie book trailers but only if you are going to make them!
I planned to discuss how to use them and have students make them more than make them myself, but I do have a sample I made.
1. Writing workshop
2. Google Doc rubrics
Writing Workshop and Catcher! Do you think Catcher can be taught in a regular 11th grade class? Is the language too much? It isn't for me, but I'm thinking of others…..
Nicole, if you look at some more recent posts, you'll see Writing Workshop won the day, but I plan to write about some of the other topics, too. As to your question about Catcher, I teach in an independent school and have done so for the last 10 years, but I have taught Catcher many times during those years and never had anyone take issue, parent or student. I never taught it in public school.
